Many months ago I wrote about how much I'd love to have this book... well, I finished it the past weekend. I won't even try telling you what it is about; I don't want to rob you of the opportunity to find out for yourself. All I can say is that it's simply enchanting - nothing else can be more perfect to describe this epic. I was in tears even before I lifted the last page.

I can't wait to see the movie. I believe the cast is just as perfect - they are just as I imagined

yes, the author's an american who took further studies about japanese art and culture. his name is arthur golden. i am not sure about harvard... i don't have the book right now so i can't check. if you have it, though, you can check it there :)
