In line with the Halloween celebration, we had a trick-or-treating event for children, young siblings, nieces/nephews of eTelecare employees last week. Since there's a prize offered for the best-costumed kid, various Halloween-inspired creations floated around the office premises.

On my way to our floor, I chanced to board with a co-worker with his wife and kid. The child, not more than two years of age, was really cute with her orange costume; all the people in the elevator looked on, smiling. Our eyes took a pleased slant until the family got off on the 14th floor.

Just after the elevator door closed behind them, a brief movement caught my peripheral vision. I turned to see a couple who, upon the sight of such a cute baby, held hands and squeezed tight. My brows knotted in confusion until my eyes rested on the lady's belly: she's with child, due any day now.

What a sight.

An officemate said, "May gatas ka pa sa labi; wag mo munang isipin yang mga ganyang bagay-bagay..."
